Parents, children
What is SI-Lab?
A space to understand, innovate, and improve pediatric surgery
Hello everyone, parents and children!
Here, we’re working to improve pediatric surgery through research, technology, and innovation. Our goal is to make care safer, more effective, and better tailored to each patient.
Why have we created this page for you?
At SI-Lab, we know that surgery can raise a lot of questions, especially when it involves young children. This site is here to:
-
Keep you informed about our projects, particularly those related to pediatric surgery and innovations in artificial intelligence, big data, and simulation.
-
Reassure you by explaining how innovation can help children and their families.
-
Get you involved: your feedback and ideas matter to us!

For kids: What is surgery?
We’ll explain it to you as if it were a story!
- Surgery is a bit like fixing a broken toy: sometimes, a part of the body needs to be “repaired” or improved so that everything works better.
- We use special tools: like microscopes, robots, or even very smart computers (AI!) to help doctors.
- Our mission: To find solutions so that these “repairs” are less scary, faster, and more precise.
Draw your idea!
Do you have an idea to make surgery more fun or less stressful? Send us a drawing to gestion@si-lab-france.com! The best drawings will be published on our website (with your permission, of course!).
For parents: how can the SI-Lab help you?

-
Concrete projects for children
-
We are working on specific projects for pediatric surgery, such as:
-
The resident logbook: A tool to ensure future surgeons are better trained before operating on your children.
-
AI for more accurate and rapid diagnoses: Tools to help doctors better understand and anticipate each child’s needs.
-
Simulators: So surgeons can practice before real operations, just like pilots in a flight simulator!
-
-
Resources to support you
-
Informational sheets: To help you understand common procedures in pediatric surgery
-
Testimonials: Stories from families who have gone through a procedure, to help demystify the process and share experiences.

How can you get involved?

-
Tell us how you envision using AI to improve your children’s care?
-
Share your story: If you’d like to share your experience (anonymously or not), contact us!
-
Support our projects: Even a small donation or a share on social media helps us move forward.
-
We welcome your questions: Feel free to write to us at gestion@si-lab-france.com
